A New Deck Makeover with Pergola Enhances a Backyard in Stamford

For this project, the home owners wanted to replace an old existing deck to take advantage of the large backyard. After a site visit, A2Z recommended a new design with a few enhancements. The Team also suggested using Trex® materials to build the deck. Trex is composite decking made from a blend of plastic film and wood fibers and is a strong, resilient material.

Construction is Started

The team first had to dismantle the old deck and begin creating the framework for the new one. An addition of a pergola at the end of the deck was designed as a sitting area to provide some shade. The supporting frame for the pergola was built simultaneously as the rest of the deck framework was installed. In addition, an unconventional octagon shape was constructed to break up the long lines of the deck to give it a unique look.
